The fishing complex of the Kaliningrad region takes one of the most important places in the fisheries sector of the country and is one of the leading industrial branches of the region. In particular, it has a significant fleet and well-developed infrastructure of the fishing industry. In addition, over the years the development of the fishing industry in the Kaliningrad region has developed a powerful system of fisheries education, has developed a high level of industry research.
All this taking into account the geographical situation of the Kaliningrad region, the presence of ice-free port, made the fishing industry of the Kaliningrad region one of the leaders in the Russian Federation. Kaliningrad Region Government has approved a regional program "Development of the Fisheries Industry", whose main aim is to attract investment in the sector.

Currently, there are 15 large enterprises operating in the region that provide catch and processing of fish raw materials, including the fishing farm "Za Rodinu" (www.zarodiny.ru), the LLC "Baltic canning factory" (Chernyakhovsk), OOO Roskon ( Pionersky) (www.rk-roskon.ru), Atlantis LLC (www.atlantis-company.ru).
