On August 25, 2021, a group of companies controlled by Gazprombank re-domiciled from the Republic of Cyprus to a special administrative region on Oktyabrsky Island (Kaliningrad Region). 7 companies of the group are registered with the status of an international company on the basis of Federal Law No. 290-FZ dated August 3, 2018 "On international companies and international funds." To date, 51 participants are registered in the SAR on Oktyabrsky Island.
The creation of special administrative regions in Russia with special conditions for doing business for foreign companies has a positive impact on the investment climate in the region. The Bank, in turn, intends to continue the implementation of significant Russian and international projects, using the favorable investment climate of the SAR.
It is important that the group of companies controlled by Gazprombank, fulfilling the investment obligations of the SAR participant, plans to send the contribution provided by the law to the development of the healthcare sector in the Kaliningrad region.
For reference: for the period of operation of the SAR, taxes and fees were received in amount of 1 billion 607 million rubles, of which 721 million rubles went to the consolidated budget of the Kaliningrad region, 378 million rubles to the federal budget and 508 million rubles of insurance premiums.
Investments of the SAR participants in the Russian economy for the period 2019-2021 amounted to more than 53.5 billion rubles.
