Representatives of the Danish holding Jutland Group, specializing in the implementation of fish-breeding projects, arrived to Kaliningrad region with a two-day business visit. The Development Corporation assisted in organizing of the meetings of foreign investors.

So, on May 10, the management of Jutland Group held negotiations with representatives of the Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the rector of the Kaliningrad State Technical University. During these meetings, Kaliningrad specialists explained the specifics of the customs regulation of the importation of aquaculture and told about the personnel training able to work at the leading fish breeding enterprises.

Jutland Group CEO Einar Winingland told during the meeting with the CEO Deputies of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation Oleg Skvortsov and Natalya Masyanova on the main parameters of the project and possible options for cooperation with the regional business.

"The Russian market is promising for Danish producers, especially taking into account the sanctions regime. The latter is distributed to aquaculture, but is not distributed to fry. Our holding, taking advantage of the geographical and tax potential of the region, is able to offer the advanced technologies for growing aquaculture in a short time to the region", Einar Winingland said.

The westernmost region, according to Oleg Skvortsov, is the optimal platform for the implementation of the Danish company's project. "There are enterprises in the region that have land resources and necessary competencies, a scientific base represented by KSTU and specialists of AtlantNIRO, convenient logistics and the most profitable complex of tax preferences for residents of the SEZ. Last year, the investment threshold for fish farming enterprises was lowered. They need to invest 50 million rubles in the economy of the region within three years. The updated law on the region SEZ exempts from paying taxes on profits, property and land, introduces the lowest payments in the country to extra-budgetary funds. An additional plus is the introduction of electronic visas for foreign citizens from July 1 next year. All this creates conditions for reducing costs at the start of the project and later", Oleg Skvortsov said.

It should be noted that on the same day the Jutland Group negotiated at the Development Corporation with the representatives of one of the Kaliningrad enterprises interested in creating a fish breeding complex. On Friday Danish businessmen also met with representatives of the ministries of economy and agriculture of the Kaliningrad region.
