On July 29, in the Chernyakhovsk industrial park, the opening ceremony of the start of construction of the industrial complex of LLC EnCore Group (a project of the Unigreen company of the Ream Management investment fund) took place with the laying of a commemorative capsule.
LLC "EnCore Group" is implementing an investment project to create a unique innovative industrial complex for the production of silicon wafers with a capacity of 1.3 GW and photovoltaic converters with a capacity of 1 GW per year on the territory of the industrial park "Chernyakhovsk" - this is the first resident of the industrial park, which began the construction of production. After reaching the design capacity, the enterprise will become the largest in Europe.
The main share of the future production of the plant is oriented towards export deliveries. The project is unique in that it provides for a full production cycle, covering deep processing of the main raw material - silicon and the production of photovoltaic converters for further assembly into solar modules. As part of the project, it is planned to create more than 750 new jobs with an increase in their number to 1,150 by 2025. The company will train highly qualified specialists in cooperation with the Baltic Federal University. For these purposes, a resource center has already been created on the basis of the BFU, and a comprehensive educational program focused on master's and bachelor's degrees is being formed.
The total investment in the project is about 24.7 billion rubles, the planned launch date is the end of 2022.
The production will be carried out using a heterostructure technology classified as n-type, the main difference of which is the high specific power generation. The technological line will be adapted to work with silicon wafers of the sizes that today and in the coming years are the most demanded in the external solar energy markets.
The solemn event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov, General Director of LLC Ream Management Mikhail Sivoldaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LLC EnCore Group Igor Shakhrai and General Director of JSC Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation "Andrey Tolmachev.
The creation and further development of an industrial complex for the production of silicon wafers and photovoltaic converters will become anchor production in the east of the Kaliningrad region and will help to increase the industrial potential and accelerate the pace of socio-economic development of the region.
