There are only a few days left before the start of the World Cup. In one of the matches, which will be held on June 28 in Kaliningrad, the teams of England and Belgium will meet. This game has become a good reason for many printed and online publications of the "foggy Albion" country to pay attention to the tourist and socio-economic potential of the westernmost region of Russia.

So, within three days in the Kaliningrad region, Financial Times newspaper correspondent Jemima Kelly collected material for a series of publications. The regional development corporation helped to organize and conduct a visit of a journalist specializing in financial and IT research. During the trip, she got acquainted with the main objects built for the World Cup, visited a number of enterprises and industrial parks.

"Jemima Kelly was under a positive impression of what she saw. During the few days that the journalist of the leading business publication spent in the region, she learned more about the peculiarities of the Kaliningrad special economic zone, energy infrastructure, IT sector, and crypto-economics of the region. For our part, we assisted her in holding meetings with the heads of relevant ministries and agencies of the regional government, with entrepreneurs engaged in large-scale tourism projects (she, for example, held negotiations with General Manager of the Kaliningrad Radisson hotel Peter Sivi) and IT investments. At present, these directions are the main trend of the Kaliningrad region economy, for entrepreneurs in these sectors there is a large set of benefits and preferences. I am sure that the journalist of the main English business publication will be able to form a holistic view of the region's economic potential" - Deputy General Director of the Development Corporation Oleg Skvortsov said.

It should be noted that the management of the Kaliningrad region Development Corporation is always open for a constructive dialogue with representatives of domestic and foreign media. Last year, the Corporation prepared more than 250 publications on the corporate site and answers to media inquiries; representatives of the regional development institute answered questions about the region's investment potential to TASS correspondents, RIA Novosti, Interfax, and RBC. The General Director of the Development Corporation Vladimir Zarudny has been giving interviews to GTRK "Kaliningrad", "Radio of Russia" during the year. As a result, the Kaliningrad Corporation was recognized as the leader of the information openness rating among the regional development corporations of Russia.
