On August 31, the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation took part in a seminar to discuss topical issues of the functioning of the Special Administrative Region (SAR) regime and further development prospects.
The seminar “Destination - SAR: Opportunities and Prospects for the SAR Regime” was organized by KPMG.
The discussion is moderated by Mikhail Orlov, Head of the Tax and Legal Consulting Department of KPMG in Russia and the CIS, Chairman of the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, Public Ombudsman for Taxes under the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights under the President of the Russian Federation.
The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov greeted the participants.
Anastasia Fedorenko, Head of the SAR Directorate of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation, presented a report on the SAR experience.
Since the start of the SAR regime on the island Oktyabrsky and island Russkiy several years have passed, but the adjustment of tax and legal regimes within the SAR is actively continuing. Now a new substantial package of amendments to the legislation has been prepared, designed to increase the attractiveness of the SAR for potential residents considering the possibility of re-domiciliation in the Russian Federation.
