The interest of residents and guests of the Kaliningrad region in getting to know its culture and history is growing. Since 2022, the tasks of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation include the search for investors for a number of cultural heritage sites in the region and their preservation until the search is completed. At the same time, the monuments and historical buildings themselves are often included in popular sightseeing routes.

This week, information about the current state of architectural monuments and some historical buildings included in the Corporation's area of responsibility was presented at a meeting of the Union of Guides of the Kaliningrad region. Maria Vorobyeva, Head of the Public Relations Department, delivered presentation of cultural heritage sites map of the Development Corporation, and told representatives of the Union about the opportunities available to them to organize joint work with investors. So, already in the spring-summer season of 2025, the Grolman bastion plans to start hosting excursion groups on a regular basis.

During the discussion, representatives of the Union voiced opinions on the necessary steps for the reconstruction of some facilities - they proposed to dismantle the glass annex to one of the buildings of the Grolman barracks complex. Separately, a proposal was made to consolidate efforts at the level of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation to find investors for all cultural heritage sites in the region, regardless of their current form of ownership.

"The Kaliningrad Region Union of Guides consolidates more than 200 professional guides, and it is very important to us that community members have reliable information and are always aware of what is happening in modern history. We often interact with cultural heritage sites and worry about their perspective. That is why it is important to get first-hand information and build interaction with owners or managers. In addition, interesting joint ideas and initiatives are born during such meetings," Victoria Korneva, head of the Union of Guides, commented on the results of the meeting.
